Fair questions. Straight answers.
Most FAQ pages exist to bury the answers. This one exists because you're about to put your name next to ours — and you should know exactly what that means before you do. So here's everything, including the parts a slicker program would hide in the terms and conditions.
Getting paid
The part you actually scrolled here for.
When do I actually get paid?
When we do. A referral pays out after the project is finished and the money has actually been collected — for escrow-paid jobs, that means when escrow closes and funds disburse. We don't pay on handshakes or signed contracts, because we don't get paid on handshakes or signed contracts.
The upside of that standard: every dollar you're owed is a real dollar, already sitting in the account. No clawbacks, no “adjustments” three months later.
What does “net profit” actually mean — and who's checking the math?
Revenue on the job, minus labor, materials, and the direct costs of doing that specific project. Not “revenue minus whatever overhead we felt like allocating this quarter.” If a number can be argued about, it doesn't go in the calculation.
You'll see the figures on each referral in your partner dashboard. If something ever looks off to you, ask. We'd rather walk you through the math than have you wonder.
The first referral really pays 100% of the profit? What's the catch?
It really does, and there isn't one. Your first completed referral, we hand you all of the net profit on the job. We keep our costs covered and make zero dollars.
Why would a business do that? Because we're not buying a referral — we're making a bet on a relationship. Once you've watched us handle someone you vouched for — the estimate, the work, the communication, the payout landing in your account — we're betting you'll want to do it again. And referral number two is where we both start making money.
Does my share come out of my client's price?
No. The person you refer pays exactly what they'd pay if they'd found us on their own. Your share comes out of our side of the job, not theirs.
This matters more than it sounds. It means you can hand our name to someone you care about without wondering if you just cost them money. You didn't.
How you level up
Four rungs. The numbers move you — nobody's opinion does.
How does the partner ladder work?
Four rungs, and the numbers do the climbing for you — no applications, no reviews, no asking permission.
First referral: 100% of net profit. All of it. Level 1: 20% of net profit on every completed referral. Level 2: 30%, plus a 10% lifetime residual — unlocks at 10 completed referrals or $50,000 in referred volume, whichever comes first. God Level: 50%, plus a 25% lifetime residual — unlocks at $200,000 in lifetime referred volume.
Hit the threshold, get the rate. That's the whole process.
What's a “lifetime residual”?
When someone you introduced hires us again — next year, five years from now, the house after this one — you earn on that job too. For as long as you're an active partner. Not “for 36 months.” Not “until we update the terms.”
The introduction was yours. The relationship it created keeps paying you, because without you it wouldn't exist.
Is “God Level” a joke?
The name? A little. The math? Not remotely. Half the net profit on every job you send, plus a quarter of the profit on every repeat job from your people, forever.
We could have called it “Platinum Elite Tier IV.” We didn't, because that's how companies talk when they're hoping you won't read the numbers. We want you to read the numbers.
The day-to-day
What this asks of you (very little) and what we handle (everything else).
Do I have to sell anything?
No — and honestly, please don't. You make the introduction. We handle the estimate, the questions, the scheduling, the painting, and the collecting.
If you ever find yourself “convincing” someone, you're doing more work than this program asks of you. A sentence and a link is the whole job.
How do referrals get tracked?
You get a personal link the moment you're approved. Anyone who comes through it is tied to you automatically, and your dashboard shows every click, every referral, and where each one stands.
And if someone skips the link entirely and just calls us saying “so-and-so sent me”? Tell us. A referral is a referral — we'll credit it to you. The link is for convenience, not a technicality to hide behind.
What happens if the home doesn't sell?
On our escrow-paid jobs, if the listing expires without a sale — nobody pays. Not the homeowner, and that means no commission for you on that job, because there's no money for it to come from.
We know that's not the answer a slicker program would give. But “if it doesn't sell, we don't get paid” is the promise on the front of our website, and it would be a strange promise if it stopped applying the moment a partner was involved. The good news: it's our risk to carry, not yours — and your referral still watched us keep our word, which is worth more to your reputation than one commission.
Who can become a partner?
Three paths: Realtors, trade professionals, and local content creators. Same ladder, same math, same dashboard for all three.
If you're a nonprofit or community organization — we want to work with you too, just not like this. We run a separate giveback program built on donations, not commissions, because your supporters deserve that distinction to be clean. Reach out and we'll point you to it.
I'm a creator. Do I get a link or a code?
A link by default — it tracks automatically and your audience doesn't have to remember anything. Custom codes are available for approved creators when it makes sense for your format.
One more thing worth knowing: the Creator Ambassador tier — the one with the free-paint offer — is invitation only. We're not buying placements. We're making bets on people.
The stuff we won't bury
If a program won't answer these out loud, that's your answer.
Is everyone approved?
No. A human reads every application — and some get a no.
That's not gatekeeping for its own sake. This program runs on trust: homeowners trust the person who referred them, and you trust us not to embarrass you. Every partner we approve is someone we'd be comfortable having vouch for us — which is exactly what makes your vouching worth something.
Can I lose my partner status?
It's rare, and it's never a surprise. We reserve the right to remove partners over fit or quality — the same standard we apply going in. If there's ever an issue, you'll hear it from us directly, like adults, before anything changes.
Going quiet for a while doesn't get you removed. Life happens. Your link keeps working.
Is this legit — taxes and all?
Yes. You're paid as an independent partner, and where the IRS requires paperwork, you'll get it from us. Boring and by the book.
If you have a specific tax question, that one's for your accountant — we're painters, and we know exactly where our lane ends.
Still have a question?
Ask it. The fastest way to find out how we treat partners is to send us a question and watch what happens next.
P.S. — If you read all the way down here before applying, you're exactly the kind of person this program was built for.
